Bases are loaded, blog on first…

Jun 10 2011

Do you remember your first day of school?  Driving on your own for the first time?  Your first day on the job?  Well this is my first blog….

Speaking of firsts, this walk down memory lane reminds me of my first full mouth reconstruction (photos above) and the excitement of watching my patient smile for the first time after treatment.   Once the crowns were cemented, the mirror was placed in her hand. Excitement went through her eyes as they started to tear, the krinkle of her lip turned slowly into a timid smile and then a full blown grin.  Her confidence began to ooze back into her personality.  Each time we met for a recall appointment the poise and certainty that she now possessed was apparent.  It was such a dramatic change from the person who first stepped into my office.   I am a father.  The pride  that I feel as I watch each patient regain confidence is similar to the pride that I feel as I watch my son step up to the plate with the bases loaded, two outs in the bottom of the 9th(or the 5th in little league), he swings, connects, and crushes the ball out to left field…fantastic, wow, it is gone!  My son hit his very first grand slam home run last week and to top it all off the Giants won the game.  I love my family and I love my job.

I am a dentist who has a specialty degree in prosthodontics.  My office,  Moffitt Restorative Dentistry,  is located in one of the most wonderful northwestern suburbs of Minneapolis: Champlin, Minnesota.  As a specialist in replacing lost and broken teeth, I have extensive specialized training in working with implants, crowns, dentures, bridges and veneers.  I am so fortunate to have such a rewarding and gratifying profession.
